Career

Work with one of the "top employers in conflict resolution".

We welcome applications from Bar, LL.M., and Ph.D. candidates. In addition, every year we offer selected international interns insights into how our firm works and our approach to the resolution of cross-border disputes. Finally, we have designed YEAT, a special program to promote young talent.

What we offer

We offer excellent training in dispute resolution, active involvement in ongoing arbitration and state court proceedings, and the opportunity to contribute to academic publications. Flexible work schedules allow you to maximise your professional and personal development. The career magazine Azur has recently given us the distinction of the "top employer in conflict resolution".

Our expectations

In addition to outstanding academics and excellent written and spoken English, candidates must demonstrate responsibility, flexibility, dedication, and the ability to work in a team.

Sound knowledge of international contract law, private international law, as well as the law of civil procedure (arbitration and litigation) are additional helpful qualifications.

Young Excellence Arbitration Traineeship
Young Excellence Arbitration Traineeship (YEAT) is a specialised one-year program that we have designed to promote talented lawyers. YEAT addresses an exclusive circle of domestic and international LL.M. and Ph.D. students who wish to gain practical arbitration experience while at the same time completing their studies. Highlights of YEAT include: Judicial collaborations on domestic and international arbitration proceedings, acting as Tribunal Secretary, participation in national and international conferences, co-authoring of legal publications, competitive remuneration, as well as continued coaching and mentoring beyond completion of YEAT by both an associate and a partner of Hanefeld Rechtsanwälte.

Lastly, in order to fully benefit from the YEAT tutoring, candidates should ensure they have capacity to be physically present at our Hamburg offices for a significant portion of the one-year program.
